The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Presented by Gran Turismo.
The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) presented by Gran Turismo is a hill climb to the summit of Pikes Peak - America's Mountain in Colorado, USA. The race was founded back in 1916 by entrepreneur and philanthropist, Spencer Penrose who improved the existing carriage road and built his ‘highway’.
It was only a gravel road up until 1999 whereupon sections began being paved. It was finally completed after the race in 2012. It is affectionately known as the "Race to the Clouds" such is the change in altitude during the climb. 2025 will be the 103rd running of the event making it America's second oldest automobile race and one that has grown into an international event that now attracts the very best drivers in the world.
The race is by invitation only and features 12.42 miles and 156 turns. Notably, the start line is at 9,390 feet and the finish is at 14,115 feet.

Other than race days, the highway is a working toll road for the rest of the year so visitors can drive the same road to experience the climb albeit at posted speeds of 20 mph.
The organisers maintain regular updates on all their social media channels @pikespeakhillclimb and as the event draws closer, they will releasing details of their live stream so that audiences across the world can follow the race.
